5 Daily Essentials For Your Spiritual Awakening

These essential tools will help you on your Spiritual Awakening path by reinforcing your soul connection and letting go what no longer serves you.

For context, a Spiritual Awakening is when you find a new level of awareness and realize that you are a soul living this human experience.

When you begin to realize that you are the soul living a human experience, you start to let go of what you are not. You are not the voice in your head that incessantly talks, shames, judges, analyzes, worries, etc. That is the ego.

When we awaken spiritually to this knowing and stop identifying with our ego voice, we naturally begin to change. We stop following the habitual thoughts that created our personality and patterns of behavior. We start connecting more to peace and presence and stop identifying with our triggers and reactivity.

Although the changes are wonderful, they do come with some growing pains. There are waves of bliss and pure love in connection to your higher self, then dips into some dark nights of letting go and understanding.

Here are the 5 essential tools that have guided me and my clients through the challenges that come with reconnecting to the highest self, and the sometimes painful release of the old identity.

Daily practice of these habits will help you through this amazing evolution of becoming.

1)        Meditate every single day. This can be hard at first, but after a while it is just like brushing your teeth. The toughest part is pushing past the resistance of the ego. The ego panics a bit, just as it might if you were taking up a daily running habit.

In meditation, we are intentionally connecting to our soul self. This is who we want running the show ultimately, not the manic ego voice.

Meditation strengthens this connection with your higher self. Do it every single day. Preferably in the morning right upon awakening, before your thoughts take you somewhere else. If your mind wanders during meditation, let it! It takes time. This is a lifetime habit. It will get quieter once it knows you’re going to do it no matter what. It will eventually stop fighting. Trust me.

2)        Affirmations. When you begin to become more self-aware, and understand what thoughts were dominating your life, it is time to change them. Rewrite your thoughts to reflect what you want, not what you fear. Thoughts are simply habits that turn into beliefs.

You can change your thoughts and beliefs to reflect what you want for your life. For example, a habitual thought people often spin on is, “What am I going to do with my life?” Change it to, “I know that my path will reveal itself in divine timing.” Speak your affirmations every day. I like to do it after meditation, and whenever else I need it.

3)        Journaling. Writing out your thoughts is incredibly helpful. When I first became aware that I wasn’t my thoughts, I would hear them spinning endlessly. I wanted them out of my head, so I started calling them out.

I began to write them in my journal like this… “My ego is telling me… (that I look old, or that I will fail, that my husband is driving me crazy, etc etc)”. Call out the ego’s thoughts, to help disassociate from them. They are not you.

Never write things like, “I am unlovable, unworthy” etc. Remember, it isn’t you thinking those thoughts. They are there, but they aren’t you. Just ego habits.

Also, always include gratitude. Write statements every day about what you are grateful for. This helps you maintain that soul connection too.

Journaling also helps when it is time to look at a core wound. When it is time to lift a memory off and out of your system, write it here in detail. It is a necessary form of growth to get out every thought and emotion that has created an energetic block in your body. This is all part of the process. The journal is a great place to release these core wounds.

4)        Take a walk in nature. Get out every day if you can. Even just to sit and watch the birds. They are all vibing at the same loving vibration that your soul is. If there was a station to tune your personal dial into that would bring peace and resonance into your body, it is in nature.

Walking is grounding and healthy for your body, and nature brings peace.

Again, it affirms your soul connection. The soul is already there. This is just another way to live your human experience more fully through the resonance of the soul. Plus, taking care of your body is essential, as it is the vehicle for your soul.

5)        Learn from the master teachers. Every single day I take time to read from books that resonate with me about spirituality and connecting to the higher self. Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Thich Naht Hanh, or whomever calls to me.

I will also listen to Youtube videos or podcasts like Oprah SuperSoul, Danny Morel “The higher Self”, Abraham Hicks, Kyle Cease etc.

Every day, consume something that affirms your soul connection. Self-study is like practice. Even if it is just a few words from the Tao. Whatever calls to your soul, you will feel it. Take time each day to remind yourself who you truly are and what you believe.

Affirming your connection every single day will strengthen your ability to live by way of the soul. And that’s what awakening is all about. Have a beautiful journey. It is an amazing path and has changed my life for the better in every way.
